With Robin Goossens, business manager and Pieter Matthynssens, co-artistic director of the Belgian Nadar ensemble
Adventure, interdisciplinarity and, above all, a critical engagement with today’s world — often through the use of new technologies — lie at the heart of the Nadar Ensemble’s guiding principles. Nadar aims to anchor new music more firmly in today’s world by developing alternative concert formats. These can range from walks and living room concerts to compositions with construction cranes or hot air balloons. In 2026 they celebrate their 20th anniversary.
Nadar proposes an interactive talk on the topic of “Curating an ensemble”: from the beginnings of the ensemble, clear artistic vision was combined with taking care of the musicians as both individuals and as a group. Fair practices, fair pay and sharp artistic views are at the core of every choice that Nadar makes.
