On A Late Anthology of Early Music Vol. 1: Ancient to Renaissance, album of the year in The Wire, composer and performer Jennifer Walshe applies AI to perhaps the least obvious candidate: the early history of Western music. In this performance, Walshe and Nadar Ensemble navigate this new, alternative, and strange world together. Expect covers of Hildegard von Bingen, Pérotin, Palestrina, and John Dowland, through a historically uninformed practice, in which people listen across the divide between machine and human.
